DRAGON BOATING HELPS KIDS DEVELOP PHYSICAL ENDURANCE, MENTAL TOUGHNESS AND TEACHES THE CORE VALUES OF TEAMWORK AND DEDICATION.
We believe hard work pays off.
We believe good technique is key.
And we believe teamwork is our strength.
The Youth team practices twice a week on Lake Minocqua. New members are taught fundamentals of the sport and how to paddle together with the team.
In 2022, our first season as a youth team, we earned medals at the Minocqua Festival and in 2023 we earned GOLD in the Community race against local adult groups!

Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival: Aug 17, 2024
Our Youth team won GOLD at last year's Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival and we want to defend our title as youth team champions!
Wear clothing that is comfortable and stretchy for exercise. Quick dry fabrics are great after getting splashed.
Shoes or strappy sandals should have good grip (we use our feet to push off the boat), be ok to get wet. No flip flops.
Bring water in a plastic bottle (no metal bottles) and maybe a snack for afterward.
All equipment for the youth has been provided by the generous donations of our sponsors! If you have your own PFD, seat pad, or dragon paddle you are welcome to bring it.
Yes we work hard, but we want each child to learn and enjoy this new sport! Plus it's a blast to watch our Youth team win over adult boats during the local festival.
Any youth turning ages 12 - 18 in the year are eligible to join the team.
