he 11th Annual Chicago International Dragon Boat Festival blends ancient culture with the excitement of sport and competition, transforming Busse Woods (Ned Brown Preserve) into the host venue for this high-energy day of racing. With festival grounds just a short drive from downtown Chicago, it’s no surprise that this event has grown to become one of the most popular destinations on the MLDB map for US and Canadian teams alike.
The Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival offers something for everyone, including: great food, music, kid’s activities, a parade of teams, cultural performances, 5k race/kids fun run and much more all along the shores of beautiful Lake Bemidji.
The goal of the festival is to raise funds and awareness for The Howard Young Foundation. Your team can help transform and sustain healthcare in northern Wisconsin for generations to come. Rally your friends and family to pledge support for your boat.
Located at the head of Lake Superior, this 400-meter race is a straight course that takes place in the Superior Bay off of Barkers Island. The water between the island and the mainland provides an ideal venue for the race, and historic Barker’s Island is a terrific staging area for not only the race but is also a recreational park for local residents .
The festival welcomes newcomers to the region by promoting community-wide social connectedness and belonging, and boosting local economies through a conscious curation of multi-ethnic food fair, cultural arts and performances, immersive activities, global vendor market, and affinity fair.
